still trying to catch up...
here's a photo of the ground outside our apartment the day after new year's. The fireworks still continued for another week, but the actual night of the new year was the biggest.
the street cleaners had the city looking clean surprisingly fast, but for a few hours the next day virtually everywhere you looked the ground was covered with exploded fireworks, papers, and wrappers

you see plenty of little round pagoda/gazebos in the parks, but i'd never seen a double one.
